I'm a bad dancer but I think dance video games like Dance Dance Revolution and Dance Central are fun. One girl lost 95 pounds playing Dance Dance Revolution because the songs are fast and if you don't keep up with the arrows, you lose.
I haven't played Dance Dance Revolution in months because my new furniture arrangement doesn't allow room for the dance mat, but I want to go back to it when I get another place.

There's also a game for Nintendo Wii called Walk It Out that lets you walk on a dance mat in your living room while seeing various locations on your TV screen that you are walking through. It's a simulation of walking all over an island. It's useful if it's too rainy or hot to go walking outside.

Working out has always been an issue for me, because I never enjoyed it, until I got the kids a WII. I lost so much weight by playing Just Dance, Just Dance 3 is my favorite of all. It's so much fun you hardly realize your arms and legs are burning, and you are dripping in sweat. The game also has a special feature that counts how many calories you are burning by doing the dances, which is even more incentive to keep dancing!

When I was younger, I used to walk a lot, usually most evenings with my dog, which both of us really enjoyed. Now, my knees are pretty stove up with the arthritis. I still walk as much as I can, but it is not much anymore.
I got one of those Tony Little Gazelles, and it works really good for me, since I do not have to bend my knees or lift my feet to use it, you just kind of ski along. And when I get worn out, I am not out walking anywhere, so I can just lay down and rest when I need to.

I have started taking hip hop classes at the local dance studio thanks to Groupon and I always get a good workout after each dance lesson. It's amazing how tiring dance can be and yet people make it look so effortless.

Personally, I love weight lifting and yoga. How about everyone else?
Great thread to start in a baking forum o_O haha!
I love yoga, swimming, dancing, anything non-impact really. It's odd too because I have tried other things over the years and this is what I have gravitated towards. Then I read a book about eating right for your blood type(mine is A) and I found out that this is what I should be doing...so at least I'm doing something right!

I know what you mean. I feel the same way about Dance Central and Dance Dance Revolution.
Before you know it, you've been dancing for two hours. It's so much fun that you don't even notice the time flying by.

Dance Dance Revolution! I totally forgot about that game, I used to play it like ten years ago with the mats that plugged into the original Xbox system. I was still in high-school, my friends and I used to stay up all night playing Dance Dance Revolution, and then we would go to school the next day with shin splints.

I'm a J-pop fan so I like the Japanese music selections on the PS2 version of Dance Dance Revolution but I also have the Xbox version and the Xbox 360 version. That's a lot of dance mats. Someone needs to invent a universal dance mat.

That is a wicked good point, why does every single game require a different mat? And, they're so big and bulky and it's hard to find a place to store them. Why has no one invented a universal mat? they have universal remotes and universal controllers!

I love lifting small weights and brisk walking. They both seem to keep me really fit and trim. Working with weights seems to burn more fat on me than any other form of exercise. And I find brisk walking in my neighborhood to be uplifting.

An "oldie" but still good - the Wii!!! I like that it has variety because I get bored with exercise very quickly!! My kids usually do it with me so it makes it fun. I've tried exercise videos, walking, the gym, etc and I give up after a while. ;-)

Definitely walking for me! I try to do it as often as possible and I enjoy doing it so it doesn't feel like a chore to me. I prefer walking by myself though so I have time to think.

I used to play badminton a lot when I was slightly younger and used to enjoy that a lot.

I used to walk too! I loved it but things came up and I wasn't able to do it. :( I forgot to add that I also cross country ski. I really love doing that but the weather doesn't always cooperate!! I also like to walk alone so I had time to think! :)

I like aerobicizing and dancing, so I obviously LOVE Zumba. Most of the time it doesn't even feel like I've been exercising until the next day when I'm really sore. It's easy to do and the music is super energizing! Even if Zumba didn't help me stay fit I'd still go to my weekly class.

I don't do a whole lot, in terms of exercise. But, when I do, I normally go back and forth between taking walks and doing squats. I really like walking because it's never incredibly stressful on you, and you can have fun with it if you bring someone else along with you.

I take walks every time I have breaks at work, actually. It's kind of nice to get outside a few times a day, even if it's only a short walk.

Trent - I like walking too! I hate running - with a passion!!! Lol! However, I will run when I do the wii - for some reason it just isn't as hard. :)

When I have time I like to walk our mini schnauzer, Dutch. He gets sooo excited to walk that you just can't help but enjoy it too!

Welcome to the forum! :)
