I think a mixer is well worth the investments. Stand mixers can be expensive, but they make things so much easier. I have a had mixer right now and it helps make my cake batters so much lighter. And making meregue is just a breeze with a mixer. No more worn out arm, and since I am older and have arthritis in my shoulder that mixer is a real blessing. I also like to mix cream cheese with a some jam and a bit of milk to make a spread for on my bagels so the mixer is great for that. The new stand mixers look so nice with the whisk that is made for them and the bread hook. If I could afford a new one, I think it would definitley be worth the money spent.
