Wondering if the cacao Beans are good!!

Hi I bought these Raw cacao Beans an Year ago. And I opened the bag today thinking to use them. They r in shells and when I open it the beans come out in parts. The bag has some powder at the bottom. I wondering if they are still good to use! Any suggestions??

Welcome to the forum! I'm not totally sure to be honest, I've never had roasted cocoa beans whole before. I've had a tub of cocoa nibs before though, and they were quite dry and crumbly, so not massively dissimilar to those in your pictures. How were they stored? In order for food to go bad it needs oxygen and water, so if they were in a dark place in an airtight container they should be OK I would have thought.

What are you planning on doing with them?

Unless frozen those beans are long gone.
They store like coffee beans, use em or lose em.
