Does anyone have any tips or a good recipe for a upside down cake? I have attempted to make one before but it did not come out the way I would have liked it to. Can anyone help?

I have a recipe in my vintage cookbook for a black skillet pineapple upside down cake if that’s what you’re looking for? I use it often as pineapple upside down cake is one of my favorites

Sorry to hear about your cake trouble. For a better result next time, try this simple tweak: melt 1/4 cup of butter directly in your cake pan, add 1 cup of brown sugar evenly over the butter, and arrange pineapple slices with cherries in the center on top. For the batter, mix 1 1/3 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup shortening, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup milk, and 1 egg until smooth, and pour it over the fruit. Bake at 350°F for about 45-55 minutes. Let it cool for 5 minutes before flipping it onto a plate. This method should give you a beautifully caramelized top every time. Good luck, and happy baking!
