Sixty years ago in my father's retail bakery shop canvas bags were the norm. Today I'm finding that my seasonally used coated canvas bags are starting to fail at the seam. I searched but found no reliable looking methods for repairing them.
Has anyone tried dropping a proper length disposable bag (or silicone bag) into a classic canvas bag as a liner? It seems to me this would give the strength of a canvas bag and the ease of cleaning of a disposable plastic one. My failing bags with their about to split seams could be hand stitched too reinforce the failing seams, no?
I don't want to 'reinvent the wheel' here. Please let me know if you have tried this, whether successfully or not.
thanks
