I don't know about you folks, but when I am baking using recipes, I like to get my instructions down to the dot. Maybe it's because I am not a veteran and I know that one little mistake can ruin the entire thing.

I just decided to use this gluten free box cake to see what it might be like. No worries I am doing something from scratch later:). I want to know how much it will yield and stuff like that. Then it tells me bake for between 10-12 minutes. I remember reading that a min can ruin the outcome of a cookie. Am I expecting too much?

Don't worry, just keep watching over your cake :) You should be fine if you do so, I doubt 2 minutes more will have a negative impact on your cake. Just relax and enjoy =D Let me know how it went ;)

I made a mistake Trellum. It was cookies. Gluten free cookies. Arrow something. Alas, I have had some success. They turned out fine and were gone in a few hours. I was shocked when I went back and found only the crumbs:):). I feel I should have lightly greased the pan, but I saved them. I just find some recipes are very detailed and others are not.

That said, I give myself a passing grade.

Good job Wintery!! You can also use parchement paper to line your cookie sheets. Some people call it cheating, but I love to bake with the stuff because the bottoms of the cookies always turn out perfect.

I actually have been reading and seeing parchment paper being used a lot in recipes. I'll have to pick some up next time I am in the supermarket. One of the cookie mixtures I used in the past that had nutella as an ingredient, I could tell no greasing was required. I could see that just by looking at it. Then there was a time I used another mix and I was told specifically not to grease the pan. I like those clear directions.
