How do you get pull apart bread to stick without sticking too much? Each time I've tried it, it would bake together and instead of pulling apart, we have to cut it. I am definitely missing something in the recipe or technique. It just fuses together into one big lump.

Well, it depends on what the recipe is, how you are making it and how its being baked.

I can't really give you an answer without seeing what you have baked and the recipe you used.

Some basic problems might be -

*over proofing the dough
*over baking the dough
*putting the pull apart pieces too close together

The only pull apart bread that I've ever made was Monkey Bread. That's made either by using store bought biscuit mix, which tends to be piecy to start with, so comes apart easily, or homemade dough that is rolled into balls and then placed together in the pan, so is also somewhat piecy and isn't difficult to pull apart.
