Bakers, I have a problem that I need opinions on.
I'd like to have a custom proofing bowl thrown for my wife's Christmas present. I'd ask her for help, but then she'd know the surprise.
Can a proofing bowl be glazed on the outside, or does it need to stay natural and pourous?

It doesn't need to be porous, it's probably better if it isn't. If porous, the bowl would have a tendency to absorb moisture from the dough, not a good thing.

Proofing bowls are plastic, metal, glass, etc. Non porous materials.
