Many are amused with our morning bread which is called pandesal and it is called so because it is usually baked in the morning for breakfast. Here are the ingredients of a typical pandesal mix...
Just by looking at the ingredients, you will already see the complicated procedure of baking pandesal. First is the warm water and lukewarm milk, what if a cold version is used? And then there is the unsalted butter but ironically you have to add a teaspoon of salt. And isn't it amusing to add breadcrumbs when what you are baking is bread? But anyway, I just posted this to inspire myself in coming up with an original recipe.
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup warm water
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter at room temperature
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 4 ½ cups all purpose flour or more as necessary
- Breadcrumbs
