I want to make an Orange Fanta Cake but I have two questions I can find ZERO answers to! Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me. My boyfriend is German and this is his favorite cake and I need to nail this and impress him with my skills!
1. I want to use a white cake recipe. I am very against using cake mix- I want to make the cake from scratch myself. I thought using a white cake may give the soda a chance to tint it orange but if not then the bright white will look dope with the orange tinted frosting and mandarin oranges. https://sugarspunrun.com/the-best-white-cake-recipe/ that's the link to the cake. So my question: Do I just add in the same amount of soda that recipes that use boxed mix call for OR do I need to substitute the soda for the eggs and liquids? The recipe calls for beaten egg whites which is why I'm stuck. Is there a better recipe for the cake I should use?
