French braided italian bread

Hey guys... looking for specific help achieving the braided bread look.

I have my recipe down but I don't know what im doing wrong with the braiding. The braids always seem to just bake into each other instead of staying separated. Out of 5 attempts I've gotten 1 to come out ad intended.

Any ideas on why or any information needed? Please and thank you!!

It sounds like your dough might be a bit too soft or sticky, which can cause the braids to merge together as they bake. Try adding a little more flour when kneading to get a firmer dough. Also, make sure to shape the braids tightly and let them rest for a few minutes before baking. Be careful not to over-proof the dough, as that can make it too soft and cause the braids to blend together.
