There are many online tools that are helpful to know the equivalent measure of a gallon converted in liters, or a pound in grams, but sometimes we need to know what is exactly a dash, a peck, or the equivalent of four quarts, if not how many tablespoons instead of a cup that we do not have at hand.
So that, I thought to share with you this handy equivalent measures table,
One Dash = less than 1/8 teaspoons or 2 to 3 drops
1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons
1/4 cup = 4 tablespoons
1/3 cup = 5 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon
1/2 cup = 8 tablespoons
3/4 cup = 12 tablespoons
1 cup = 16 tablespoons
1 pint = 2 cups
1 quart = 4 cups
1 gallon = 4 quarts
1 peck = 8 quarts
1 bushel = 4 pecks
1 pound = 16 ounces
Similarly, how many apples are 3 cups sliced? It should be 3 medium apples or 1 pound
1 1/3 cups banana mashed = 1 pound or around 3 medium bananas
1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs = 1 slice of bread with crust
2 1/4 cups brown sugar packed = 1 pound
1/2 cup butter or margarine = 1/4 pound stick or 8 tablespoon
3 3/4 cups Confectioners' sugar = 1 pound
2 cups corn syrup = 16 ounces
1 cup cottage cheese = 8 ounces
6 tablespoons cream cheese = 3 ounces
1 cup chocolate pieces = 6 ounce package
1 square chocolate square = 1 ounce
2 2/3 cups coconut, shredded = 7 ounce bag
1 cup egg whites, large = 8-10 whites
1 cup egg yolks, large = 12-14 yolks
