If you have a good, recipe for Tres Leche cake (3 Milks cake) please send to the Wegman's upscale supermarket chain ...based out of Wegmans, Rochester, NY. Each Wegmans has a "bakery" where supposedly the best creations are made and sold. However Wegman's Tres Leche cake is ridiculous (like some of Wegman's prices). Their version of Tres Leche is nothing but white cake. Speaking with the Latin guy who worked in the Wegmans bakery here in Columbia, MD, we both got a good laugh about Wegman's version. Is not a complex cake so why can't Wegmans get it right?

When you have purchased and tasted Tres Leche from the commune tiendas in Latin America one can get very judgemental. However Wegmans is just bad.

2. nothing about this cake is even remotely associated with authentic Mexican culture. Wheat and cows are not native to North America. Both were brought here when the Spanish, then later French and other europeans came and slaughtered and enslaved the indigenous peoples of the Americas. All things wheat and dairy are in fact from European culture and rooted in colonialism, not Mexican and indigenous culture.

Colonialism destroy peoples language, food, identity. Spanish is not even the language of the indigenous people of Mexico.

Make no mistake this cake is nothing to be proud of.

Sounds like you are either untraveled or just unaware of reality around you. Authentic Mexican culture does include the Spanish who brought cattle and cows to Mexico in 1520s. The Spanish are as much a part of being Mexican as any of the Native tribes, In my opinion, in the long run the Spanish uplifted the Natives when they forbid human sacrifice and homosexuality. Tres leche is in every pasteleria I stopped in while in America Centro. IIt is in every pasteleria here . To deny Spanish role in Mexican culture....what language is spoken by 96% of the population? Not mayan or quechua. That is like saying the English had no effect on the Irish or Scottish which is just ignorant.

I am very proud the day I actually make a good tres leches cake, Your parents were never stepped on by Spanish nor mine by the English
