Cracked macaroons?

How do I prevent this in the future some turned out well but most came out cracked

that might just be hotspots in the oven, did you turn the tray when halfway baked, it helps even out the heat.
you can also double tray them or use silicone mats to even out the heat.

If they are too dry, put them back in the oven at 250F and dry them out, process into powder, use as garnish on anything.
or mix it into frangipane (pate d'amonde actually).
They really good dried out and chopped into big chunks, fold into whipped cream or mousses or even ice cream.
Lots of uses for failed batches....zero waste.

Thank you so much ♡ I made a second batch where I rotated them halfway through and they came out almost perfect I just need to work on my piping skills 😅
