Christmas Cookies

In our family we've always had a Christmas tradition of getting together to decorate the sugar cookies that my mother has always made to enjoy during the Christmas season.

Growing up it was always my siblings and myself that decorated the cookies, but now that we are grown and my brother and I have children of our own, we have passed down the tradition of decorating the cookies to our children.

Is there anyone else that has this kind of a tradition in their family? I think it really has been something that has bound us together over the years.

I make sugar cookies during the holidays too. They are a great project to do with children. The way I enjoy them is plain. So, I keep a few out of the batch that are plain and let everyone else eat the decorated sugar cookies.
