I came across this recipe in my Grandmother's recipe book, but whilst it has the cooking instructions for making the shortbread, it does not have what to do with the topping. Does anyone have any ideas?
Serves 6-8
Shortbread base
125g butter
75g sugar
175g flour
Topping
2tbsp golden syrup
395g can condensed milk
150g dark chocolate (min 70% cocoa solids)
1 bar while chocolate (optional)
Instructions
Cream the butter and sugar together
Mix in the flour and form a ball.
Press it into a 20cm diameter cake tin so it is 4cm deep
Cook at 200C/400F/Gas 6 for 12-15 minutes
Removed the tin from the oven and leave the shortbread in the tin...
Now my instructions end here - what do I do with the topping please?
