Hi I am a teacher and I was given bags of frozen bread to bake for less fortunate homes in my school to have for the holidays. These bags take up space in my fridge but I also want to thaw them and have the rise correctly. Am I able to put the bread dough on sheets and wrap in plastic and place on my enclosed porch the temp out there is 31 degrees?

Basically so the “refrigerator thaw” then I will let the rise at room temp before baking.

Thank you in advance!

hawing on the porch at 31 degrees is too cold. It'll basically freeze the dough. If you're short on fridge space, try using coolers with ice packs, thawing a few bags in the fridge at a time or as a last resort, thawing in a cool part of your house (not the porch) but watch it closely. Thaw first, then let it rise at room temp. What you're doing is great!
